The Bean Tin

So far, my life has been a series of ridiculous (and exaggerated) and anxiety driven (usually on my own doing) events, but I really think that the day I was ready to enter the world - not diva-like or anything, probably just bitching and asking for a cigarette to go with my milk - is probably the single best gift I could have ever been given. St Patrick’s day, March 17th, is my favorite day and the thing is, it’s not cause it’s my birthday. The day is devoted to Irish people who, after years of It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia, Boondock Saints, The Departed, and [insert any gangster film/tvs show made in Boston] I have grown a great desire to go shot for shot with them. The day has gotten infinitely better this year as my new favorite sport that I like to pretend to care about/understand - RUGBY, MATE! - is on on my beee[r]-day: Six Nations, England Vs. Ireland. What’s even better? I stumbled up this gem of a cupcake shaped as a green beer mug. That’s even better than the green I’ll smoke and the Green Fairy (a la Eurotrip) that will be accompanying me along St. Patty’s festivities. I hope everyone has vague memories and all too clear pictures of the Day of Saint Patrick in the Grand Year of 2012.
